Midterm Review of Senator Paulina Brambila


About the Position: The Legislative Branch is made up of the following committees: Budget and Finance, Academic Affairs, Student Activities, and Student Advocacy. Senators have the power to create legislation for student government and regulate the budgets presented by organizations on campus. They also have the ability to approve requests to Associated Students made by UC Merced administration and promote the general welfare of the UC Merced student body. 

Office Hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the ASUCM Office

Campaign Promises: Senator Paulina Brambila is a newly elected senator as of Spring 2018. She is interested in giving back to the community and supporting the sciences. As she is a STEM major, she wishes to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) in ASUCM. She plans to promote STEM by advocating for more STEM related projects in ASUCM. Outside of ASUCM, Brambila has designs to campaign for STEM related clubs and organizations receiving better funding. Finally, she wishes to not just create an outreach to STEM majors, but all other majors to inform them more about ASUCM and other club related projects. She maintains that it is important for all students to have equal opportunities and outreach; she believes she can help to accomplish this.
